The Aperion Audio Daedalus DS12 is a 250W RMS Class D powered subwoofer featuring a 12" high-excursion paper composite cone driver, capable of extending bass response down to an impressive 19Hz for truly immersive home theater and music experiences — even in medium to large rooms. Sharing the same platform as the DS8 and DS10, it adds a larger driver for greater output and deeper low-frequency extension, while retaining the same balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs and outputs, adjustable crossover and phase controls, front-ported 1" MDF cabinet, and signature curved design.

• 12" High-Excursion Paper Composite Cone Woofer: A lightweight treated paper composite cone with rubber surrounds, high-power voice coils, and powerful magnetic circuits maximises cone movement to achieve high sound pressure levels at very low frequencies with precision and control. A unique damping coating reduces unwanted vibrations, lowering distortion and improving bass clarity.

• Unbalanced RCA & Balanced XLR Inputs: Standard RCA inputs are complemented by balanced XLR inputs for compatibility with any receiver's subwoofer pre-out. XLR's balanced signal transmission minimises noise and interference over long cable runs, with a locking connector for a secure fit.
• Dual RCA & XLR Outputs: Both unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR outputs allow flexible multi-subwoofer daisy-chaining, solving the limitation of single subwoofer output ports on preamplifiers and processors. Note: connections must be matched by type (RCA-to-RCA or XLR-to-XLR only).
• Phase 0–180° Knob: Fine-tune the phase relationship between the DS12 and your main speakers to eliminate phase cancellation, improve low-frequency response, and optimise integration regardless of room layout or speaker placement.
• Crossover 40–160 Hz & Off/LFE: The adjustable crossover knob sets the frequency split between the subwoofer and main speakers to prevent overlap and maintain clarity. Set to Off/LFE when your AV receiver has a dedicated subwoofer output, allowing it to receive pre-processed low-frequency signals without applying a second crossover stage.
• Auto & Standby Mode Switch: In Auto mode, the DS12 powers on when it detects a signal and enters standby after 30 minutes of silence (drawing less than 0.5W). Always On mode keeps the unit continuously powered regardless of signal detection.
• Front Inverted Port Tube Design: A large front-mounted inverted port tube enhances low-frequency output, efficiency, and distortion control with minimal port noise — and enables closer-to-wall placement compared to rear-ported alternatives.
